La Fabrique Défense

SECOND EDITION – DECEMBER 2021

Responding to a new request from the Ministry of the Armed Forces, IESD coordinated the new edition of “La Fabrique Défense Lyon” and, supported by numerous partners, took up a new challenge: a complete week dedicated to Defense, from December 6 to 10, 2021.

This activity rich week including ; conferences, round tables, and visits, gathered no less than 630 participants!

Open to participants between 15-30, the Defense Factory welcomed a large audience focusing on defense issues. You will find more details on each thematic day in the “events” section.

The Parisian edition of “La Fabrique Défense” took place between 28 – 30 January 2022 at La Villette (Paris). Think tanks, institutions, military representatives, universities, and companies were present at this event to promote Defense and offer ever more innovative, immersive, and participative experiences. IESD was also represented to exhibit the events that took place in Lyon and thus embody the dynamism of the regions.

FIRST EDITION – JANUARY 2020

Following the national event “La Fabrique Défense” organized in Paris and various regions across France, La Fabrique Défense Lyon took place on Wednesday, January 15 at the Hôtel de Région in Lyon. The Institute of Strategy and Defense Studies (IESD), Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University, the Ministry of the Armed Forces, the Eden Cluster, the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region, and all partners organized this open event, especially welcoming high school and university students, dedicated to the knowledge of the world of Defense.

Cyber, space, the army, international law, drones, Ph.D. programs, films, and intelligence were just some of the topics that were addressed during the conferences, round tables, testimonies, activities, and jobs & training fora throughout the day, by more than 40 academic, industrial, military and associative partners.

More than 400 people gathered today for the first edition of La Fabrique Défense Lyon.
