La Fabrique Défense
Abstract
SECOND EDITION – DECEMBER 2021
Responding to a new request from the Ministry of the Armed Forces, IESD coordinated the new edition of “La Fabrique Défense Lyon” and, supported by numerous partners, took up a new challenge: a complete week dedicated to Defense, from December 6 to 10, 2021.
This activity rich week including ; conferences, round tables, and visits, gathered no less than 630 participants!
Open to participants between 15-30, the Defense Factory welcomed a large audience focusing on defense issues. You will find more details on each thematic day in the “events” section.
The Parisian edition of “La Fabrique Défense” took place between 28 – 30 January 2022 at La Villette (Paris). Think tanks, institutions, military representatives, universities, and companies were present at this event to promote Defense and offer ever more innovative, immersive, and participative experiences. IESD was also represented to exhibit the events that took place in Lyon and thus embody the dynamism of the regions.

About the Author
Douglas de Quadros Rocha is a doctoral researcher in the Strategy Department of the Magellan Laboratory (EA 3713, IAE, Lyon III) and head of the Nuclear Studies Unit at the Institute for Strategy and Defense Studies (IESD, Faculty of Law, Lyon III). He is a doctoral student in political science at the Université Jean Moulin Lyon-III, where he is writing a thesis on France's nuclear deterrence and arms control strategy. His research focuses on nuclear issues (deterrence, non-proliferation, arms control and disarmament), French deterrence doctrine and strategic risk reduction.
